We hope you like the concept behind this website. The idea of walking to work will not of course suit everyone but hopefully WALKTOWORK will help in your job search. Our aim is to make you aware of all opportunities within your postcode district.

In order to achieve greater coverage we invite you to share your local knowledge within your postcode district (or anywhere within the UK) and add a free listing, that is, add a link to any employer who has a vacancy page or career page on their website. All free listings are added anonymously and will be checked. You will find that for some reason the current vacancy pages are often ‘hidden’ within the website and may require a spot of ‘digging’.

All links from this website are to live vacancies within the public domain, we trust that our direct links will assist you in your job search.

If you are seeking local staff and do not have a web presence then we invite you to add details of your vacancy within your postcode district for only £1.50 per week. Our coverage is rapidly expanding and we invite you to read the testimonials on our front page.

You will note that we have purposely avoided the use of any search facility, which in our experience can be frustrating in the extreme, instead the ‘search’ is purely clicking on your postcode area and then your postcode district which will lead to random, and in many cases surprising opportunities in your chosen postcode district.  UK postcode districts are irregular shaped 'islands' on average about 4 to 5 miles across and therefore walkable!

We recognise that websites are dynamic beasts which could mean that if we add a link to a vacancy today the employer may change the page or go out of business tomorrow, we apologise in advance if this happens and would ask you to inform us if you find any broken links.

We also recognise that this is perhaps not the prettiest website but at least we didn't win the ugly website competition so it can't be all bad. We trust you will find WALKTOWORK useful, uncluttered, functional, helpful and, of course, with enormous potential.
